Did you know that Guatemalan farmers get paid only £5.96 per day? 
yes, that is 8 hours picking coffee beans under the sun!

So in 1967, Fedecocagua to help Guatemalan coffee farmers with loans, technical help, how to transport & store produce, but specially how to sell it for a fair price.

It helps now more than 19,354 coffee farmers.  

The Coop was one of the first supermarkets in England to promote Fair trade and now they are doing a producer Competition.

"You could travel to Guatemala to meet one of the first co-operatives to supply us Fairtrade coffee – and discover the fascinating Mayan history and breath-taking central American landscapes along the way. You will see how coffee is harvested and processed at small holder farmer co-ops, and hear about Fairtrade’s work as well as our very special development project first hand from the people of Fedecocagua."
