Guatemala city is a well designed city in a valley surrounded by volcanoes.

You'll fly into International Airport "La Aurora" . From the descent you'll see a perfectly grid system of streets and avenues because Guatemala is one of the best planned cities in the world!

Guatemala city or "Guate" is is a very cosmopolitan capital: loud, happy, hectic, rush hour & happy hour, lots of restaurants to choose from and to accommodate every budget. You can get lunch from £1 -£10 in a 5 star hotel buffet.

We also got a beautiful theater, big shopping malls, five star hotels and excellent cuisine restaurants. Several museums are worth a visit like Museo Ixcel for Mayan textiles and Museo de Antropologia e Historia for Mayan legacy.

Back when the Spanish conquered us, Guatemala was the capital of 5 countries: Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Later on the "Confederacion Centroamericana" disolved. Now we can travel between countries just with our  Id , but as a British Citizen you can travel for 6 months with no problem. The British Embassy is in zona 10 very close to the airport .

So Welcome to Guatemala and I hope you like the pictures!
